How is Creative Exchanges organised?

Creative Exchanges is managed by Age & Opportunity's Coordinator of Education and Training Programmes, Paul Maher, who oversees programme development, delivery and assessment, assigns Trainers to deliver training; facilitates drama workshops; ensures FETAC Quality Assurance is maintained. Contracted trainers deliver the Creative Exchanges programme, including two qualified Process Drama Facilitators, a qualified Process Art Facilitator and other contracted consultants as required.

Funding

Creative Exchanges is an Age & Opportunity initiative supported by the Health Service Executive.

In kind support has also been provided by the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) who have generously provided a venue for training.

History

Formerly known as ‘Arts in Care’, Creative Exchanges has its origins in an AIB Better Ireland Award that was given to Age & Opportunity in 1998 for its arts work. In 1999, Age & Opportunity’s Arts and Older People Advisory Committee advised Age & Opportunity to explore the potential for developing an arts in care settings project in the Midland Health Board area. This resulted in the Arts in Care project, now known as Creative Exchanges.
